47975 at Skegness (1994)

47975 "The Institute of Civil Engineers" is seen with a Track Recording Train at Skegness on 2nd February 1994. 

Built by Brush Traction, Loughborough, it entered service on 17th March 1964 as D1723. It was subsequently renumbered 47132/47540. It was renumbered 47975 on 24th August 1990, and then renumbered back to 47540 on 18th December 1995. Withdrawn on 1st May 1998, it later spent time at the Wensleydale Railway, but due to its condition deteriorating, was scrapped by TJ Thompson of Stockton on 31st March 2016. The Inspection Carriage, DB999508, built in 1960, has since been preserved at Rowden Mill.
